Darla McAdams

Reentry Peer Supervisor

Darla McAdams is a dedicated Reentry Peer Supervisor at Building Promise USA, committed to empowering individuals as they navigate the challenges of reentry, recovery, and rebuilding their lives. Drawing from her own lived experience, Darla brings a unique combination of compassion, authenticity, leadership, and firsthand understanding to her work with individuals transitioning back into their communities.

Having overcome years of addiction and several years of incarceration, Darla understands the barriers, stigma, and challenges that can accompany the journey toward a new beginning. Her personal experience has become the foundation of her passion for service and her belief that every individual has the capacity for growth, healing, and meaningful change.

Through her work at Building Promise USA, Darla provides mentorship, peer support, resource navigation, and encouragement to individuals working to establish stability and independence. She helps connect people with essential resources related to housing, employment, recovery, education, and community support while encouraging them to recognize their own strengths and possibilities.

Darla believes that lived experience can become a powerful tool for change. She openly shares her journey to demonstrate that a person’s past does not have to determine their future. Her approach is rooted in empathy, accountability, hope, and the belief that sometimes people need someone to see their potential before they are able to see it themselves.

As a Reentry Peer Supervisor, Darla is passionate about creating pathways to successful reentry and helping individuals move beyond survival toward purpose, stability, and self-sufficiency. She is not only an advocate and mentor, but also a living example of the transformation that can occur when individuals are given the opportunity, support, and encouragement to rebuild their lives.
Darla’s mission is simple: to help others rise, rebuild, and reclaim their future.
